Community

Events

At Ngoma Center for Dance, our commitment to community extends well beyond the classroom. We believe that access to the arts is a right — not a privilege — and that dance has the power to transform individuals, families, and entire communities. Through masterclasses, workshops, seasonal adult class offerings, and special events, we create meaningful opportunities for dancers and dance enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds to grow, connect, and thrive.

Our community programming reflects the breadth of our organizational mission: celebrating Black and Brown artistic voices, preserving cultural heritage through movement, and building equitable pathways into the arts. Whether you are a seasoned dancer, a curious beginner, or a community member looking to engage with the arts in a new way, there is a place for you here.

Adult  Dance Workshops

Student Workshops

Throughout the year, Ngoma hosts invited masterclass faculty, professional development workshops, and seasonal adult classes designed to challenge and inspire. Our events draw on the expertise of nationally recognized artists, educators, and industry professionals — bringing world-class training directly to the DMV community.

We invite you to explore the opportunities below and join us in building something greater — together.
