After receiving an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Kioko received a scholarship to study at Cincinnati Ballet’s Otto M. Budig Academy. Shortly after Cincinnati Ballet, Joel received notice that was accepted into the English National Ballet School. While in England, Kioko performed the dance works of Petipa, Castilla, and Valcárcel. Kioko performed classic works such as Concerto and Giselle.  Additionally, Joel had the opportunity to participate in the English National Ballet School’s UK Tour of Sleeping Beauty – graduating in 2020.

In 2021, Joel found himself back in the United States of America. He was invited to dance with the Joffrey Ballet Studio Company in the fall of 2021. While at Joffrey Ballet Studio Company, Joel performed in the Nutcracker (choreographed by British Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon) and Appalachian Spring by Yoshihisa Arai.  In 2023, Kiko received a position in Wisconsin dancing with Milwaukee Ballet II for their 2023-2024 season – performing in Michael Pink’s Nutcracker and Cinderella.
